🔓 Introduction

Welcome to Synkin (“App”, “we”, “our”, “us”). Synkin is a premium dating application designed for adults aged 18 and above. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

By using Synkin, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

👤 Information We Collect

• Phone Number: Used for account creation and verification (OTP-based).
• Profile Data: Name, age, gender, photos, bio, interests, and preferences you provide.
• Location: Your approximate city-level location for showing nearby profiles. We do not store precise GPS coordinates.
• Messages: Chat messages are end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) and stored securely on our servers.
• Device Info: Device type, OS version, and FCM push token for notifications.
• Usage Data: App usage patterns for improving the service (anonymous).

🔒 How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain the Synkin dating service.
• To match you with compatible profiles based on your preferences.
• To send real-time chat messages, notifications, and date reminders.
• To verify your identity and prevent fake/fraudulent accounts.
• To process date bookings at partner restaurants and venues.
• To improve app performance and user experience.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

🔐 Data Security

All chat messages are protected with End-to-End Encryption (E2EE). Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (AWS Mumbai region). We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit. We regularly review our security practices.

📞 Audio & Video Calling Policy (Strict Mutual Consent)

Synkin prioritizes member comfort, safety, and personal boundaries above all else. Direct or unsolicited calling is strictly prohibited and architecturally prevented by design:

• No Direct Calls Without Consent: Users can never place a voice or video call directly to another member without prior consent.
• Mandatory Request & Approval: A user must first send an in-chat Call Request. A call can only be initiated if the recipient explicitly approves and accepts the request.
• Dedicated Calling Window: Once approved, the call is enabled in a dedicated, controlled time window. Either participant can decline, cancel, or terminate the call at any moment.
• Zero Call Recording: All audio and video streams are transmitted end-to-end via secure peer-to-peer (WebRTC) protocols. Synkin does not record, listen to, or store any call audio or video content on its servers.

📷 Photos & Media

Photos you upload are stored on our secure servers and used only to display your profile to other users. Photos shared in chat are encrypted and only accessible to the conversation participants. We do not use your photos for training AI models or advertising.

📍 Location Data

Synkin requests location permission to show your city and approximate distance to other users. We store only city-level location (not precise GPS). You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.

🔔 Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications for new matches, messages, and date reminders. You can disable push notifications at any time from your device settings.

👩 Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google): Push notification delivery only.
• AWS (Amazon): Secure cloud hosting for our backend.
• Turso (libSQL): Encrypted cloud database for user data.
• Expo: Mobile app platform and OTA updates.

These services have their own privacy policies and are bound by data processing agreements.

🔦 18+ Age Requirement

Synkin is strictly for users aged 18 years and above. By creating an account, you confirm you are at least 18 years old. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.

📄 Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your profile data within the app.
• Update: You can edit your profile at any time.
• Delete: You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. All data is immediately and permanently erased.
• Block & Report: You can block and report any user directly from the app.
• Data Portability: Contact us to request a copy of your data.

• Prohibition on Copying & Scraping: No part of this application, including user profiles, media assets, or features, may be copied, reproduced, scraped, reverse-engineered, or distributed without express written permission under the Copyright Act, 1957 and international copyright treaties.
• Screenshot & Content DRM: To protect user privacy and prevent unauthorized reproduction of user photos and chat media, Synkin implements hardware-level screenshot and screen-recording prevention (FLAG_SECURE) across mobile devices.
• User Content Protection: Users retain ownership of their uploaded photos. Any unauthorized capture or external re-distribution of another user's dating profile is strictly prohibited and subject to immediate account termination and legal action.

📋 Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all your personal data, matches, messages, and profile photos are permanently deleted within 24 hours. Anonymized aggregate analytics may be retained for up to 12 months.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via the app when significant changes are made. Continued use of Synkin after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
